The Chrysler Pacifica is already the minivan by which all others are judged these days, but the competition is going to have to try even harder if its wants to overhaul the Chrysler. This is because of many enhancements for the new model year that have made the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica even better than it was already.
Exterior updates
Although the body, powertrain and interior are largely unchanged for 2019, Chrysler has tweaked the lineup to keep the momentum behind the Pacifica going. Among the changes is the LX trim level, which sits just above the entry level L model in the 2019 lineup, now getting standard auto headlamps, while the more upscale Touring L Plus model now comes with 17-inch polished alloy wheels with gray pockets. A couple of new colors have also been added to the Pacifica's existing palette of eight colors, which are Maximum Steel and Luxury White and this now means buyers have 10 colors to choose from.
The S Appearance package released last year for the Pacifica will now also be available with the Pacifica Hybrid. The package includes an all-black exterior, 18-inch alloy wheels with a black finish, and gloss black accents on the exterior to bring a whole new dimension to the way a minivan can look.
Technology enhancements
Interior technology updates might not be as noticeable as the exterior items already covered, but this is the type of stuff that really matters to minivan buyers and their passengers. The Touring Plus trim level will now include an auto-dim rearview mirror as part of its standard kit, and the Touring L will now be available with UConnect Theater with its two 10-inch seat-back touchscreens and the optional Cold Weather Group. Don't forget though, every version of the Pacifica already gets at least a six-speaker audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and a 7-inch touchscreen that can be upgraded to an 8.4-inch unit.
Carryover highlights
Of course, there are plenty of fantastic features carrying over from 2018 which also deserve a mention and the powertrain is certainly one of them. A minivan fully loaded with people and cargo needs a good amount of power to move such a considerable amount of weight, and the Chrysler certainly isn't to be found wanting in this important area. Under the hood is still the exceptional Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6, which puts an impressive 287 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque at the driver's disposal. It's a smooth, quiet unit which goes about its work with the minimum of fuss, and it comes mated to Chrysler's outstanding nine-speed automatic transmission.Â
If you thought the Pacifica with that S Appearance Package was taking an often neglected area of the minivan genre to another level, just wait until you come and test drive one with us. The Pacifica rides and drives more like a sedan than a minivan as its surprisingly nimble, agile and fun, especially when the road curves and bends. You might not even have known you needed or wanted this level of performance from a minivan, but after test driving the Pacifica you'll never settle for anything less.
To find out more about the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica and to arrange that all-important test drive, don't hesitate to get in touch with us here at Gene Steffy Chrysler Dodge Jeep today.
