Did Chrysler Win World War II for the Allies?

In December of 1940, before the United States had committed to sending troops overseas, President Roosevelt made asked American auto manufacturers to use their assembly lines and production factories to churn out wartime equipment for our allies.

Chrysler was among the first to heed the call.

It turned out, of course, that building a tank is far different from building a car, and the company's current set up would not do. Chrysler picked a new location in Warren, MI, and began building a facility to suit the government's needs.
